You did it wrong. And applying with your SSN had nothing to do with your decline. Don't pretend to have an elaborate business that you can't back up - even if you can stretch it to seem kinda plausible.

What you should have done (and could do in 30 days if you wish to reapply) is to simply apply as a "Sole Proprietor". From that point, pick a category/subcategory that makes sense for you, put minimal levels of income and years in business. I have gotten 3 Chase business cards doing exactly that (2 using my SSN, the 3rd with an EIN), as have a large number of other people - oddly enough, it is easier to get approved following those steps than for legitimate small business owners applying for their businesses.
That one has an annual fee and requires $5k spending from what I can see, but the CB and bonus amount are indeed better.
When I signed up years ago, basic Ebay sellers were viewed as a business. Today YMMV but I still have the card.

One thing to know, the buyer protections granted to customers of non-business VISA cards may not come with the business card. You may want to check carefully before using this card for higher risk purchases.

They actually want me to go into a chase branch to verify my business. I guess I opened too many business cards in the past. Oh well.

If you don't have an actual business then you need to use first+last name only as business name ("JOHN SMITH")

Making something up will require proof that you own that business
Can I simply re-apply then or am I screwed? I never had an issue doing it my way before but now they want verification.

If you didn't use your name then you can try calling to have them update the app with your name as business name

If not then you can wait 31 days for old app to drop from their system and apply again

Are they requiring a fictitious business statement for anyone else?

I used my name and they are still asking that.

Maybe its category related -- which one did you choose?

Most people who use their name, select nonretail category and have $1000-2000 revenue haven't had a problem

I applied for the Chase Ink Business Preferred back in December, and I got an additional card for my wife on the same account (I know not to do that now). I just applied for the same card for my wife and I got the dreaded 30 day review message. Is that because she sort of has the card already through my account? Can I call in to talk to a CSR, or does she have to be the one to call? TIA

I already have a Ink Business Preferred, it seems like balance transfers are available on this. Would a balance transfer count towards the minimum spending requirement?

What is the reason that you would not do that now? I can't think of one. The 30 day review is fairly standard, not dreaded.

I read that having getting a card that is a sub to your spouse's card counts toward your 5/24.

my wife signed up with her own name as the Business, Sole Proprietor, $1000/ yr revenue, 2 years in business, business type individual, individual, individual. She does have a credit score >800 which may have helped.

Called the automated line to check on status and it's approved. Maybe this will help someone
