What you should have done (and could do in 30 days if you wish to reapply) is to simply apply as a "Sole Proprietor". From that point, pick a category/subcategory that makes sense for you, put minimal levels of income and years in business. I have gotten 3 Chase business cards doing exactly that (2 using my SSN, the 3rd with an EIN), as have a large number of other people - oddly enough, it is easier to get approved following those steps than for legitimate small business owners applying for their businesses.
One thing to know, the buyer protections granted to customers of non-business VISA cards may not come with the business card. You may want to check carefully before using this card for higher risk purchases.

It's likely worth significantly more than $1100 if you transfer it to most airlines where you can often get nearer 2 cents a point- so near $1500....(or 2-3 times THAT if booking business class)... or Hyatt where you can get 2-3 cents a point decently often with transfers (the other hotel chain transfers kind of suck in comparison)
Well- transfers are sort of limited... but given airline alliances there's relatively few you can't still book with...
The travel portal can book pretty much any airline to my knowledge, though for a couple (Southwest for example) you need to do it via telephone.
Transfers usually beat the portal though, and usually by a decent amount... (southwest is the most likely exception- since the transferred points are typically worth 1.4-1.6 cents each... while using the portal you get 1.5 cents a point with a CSR card AND it counts as a revenue fare so you get SW points for it too.).
I was able to activate it by calling a number automatically without a human, but, to set up an online account I couldn't.
I had to call them and go through fraud department in order to get my account set up. Weird. All good though.
Does this need to be a Visa/Mastercard Gift Card, or will it also work with a Visa/Mastercard Prepaid card?
Anyone with experience please post.
It's worth around $1100 through the portal (depending how over 700 in points) if you have a CSR...which if you travel significantly and use chase cards, you should.

Not really, no.

I guess my comment is geared more toward international travel. I've found much better deals bundling those. For domestic travel, I could see it beneficial to using the portal or transfer especially when paired with hotel points from other cards.
You're not going to get anywhere near that kind of value taking the points as cash at 1 cent a point and buying a flight/hotel bundle.
For economy fares, I guess I'd have to see what kind of bundles you're talking about...
These days it's not that tough to find 200-300 bucks round trip to much of Europe for example, though often you don't get to take any real luggage along... so using the chase portal at 1.5 cents a point you'd get your flight for 13,000-20,000 points... or the equivalent of $130-200 if you took those points as cash instead... how much is the flight in your package deal?
For "real" economy flights with checked bags using point transfers will run you at least 32,000 points round trip... so you'd be "paying" $320 worth of points (versus taking those points as cash) on the low end....roughly double using the portal so probably only worth it if you have a decent amount of luggage to take along...
Hotels vary way too widely to judge... Chase transfers offer fantastic value at Hyatt properties, 2-3 cents per point isn't hard to find... but if you want to stay at $50/nt hostels or something even the best Hyatt deal is gonna be insanely overpriced compared to that...so for cheaper properties you'd be back to the 1.5 cents a point at the portal.... meaning $100 "worth" of points if taken as cash would book you $150 worth of hotel room.

We don't buy a lot but I was thinking to use either plastiq or Venmo to make payments to each other.
Both plastiq and Venmo have 2.5%-3% fees, which amounts to ~$75, but has anyone actually used either to meet these sign up bonus requirements?
Do both plastiq/Venmo show up as credit purchases on the card?
Any other method where the fees are lower?

This way you don't have to pay any fees.
I'm unsure about Venmo but I have seen youtube vids where plastiq is treated as a standard purchase so you should be fine with this route.
One? Not really, as long as you have any sort of decent credit history/score.
Probably don't want to spam 20 of em on there shortly before applying though.
