You did it wrong. And applying with your SSN had nothing to do with your decline. Don't pretend to have an elaborate business that you can't back up - even if you can stretch it to seem kinda plausible.

What you should have done (and could do in 30 days if you wish to reapply) is to simply apply as a "Sole Proprietor". From that point, pick a category/subcategory that makes sense for you, put minimal levels of income and years in business. I have gotten 3 Chase business cards doing exactly that (2 using my SSN, the 3rd with an EIN), as have a large number of other people - oddly enough, it is easier to get approved following those steps than for legitimate small business owners applying for their businesses.
That one has an annual fee and requires $5k spending from what I can see, but the CB and bonus amount are indeed better.
When I signed up years ago, basic Ebay sellers were viewed as a business. Today YMMV but I still have the card.

One thing to know, the buyer protections granted to customers of non-business VISA cards may not come with the business card. You may want to check carefully before using this card for higher risk purchases.

I assume Ink cash & unlimted (both no annual fee ink) only can get cash back reward.

Unless my personal or biz card with any of UR card family, then can pull "ink cash & unlimited" reward to UR point.

i.e. like freedom card cash reward can become UR point only I had any CSR, CSP.....

let me know if I am incorrect. thanks

All Chase Freedom/Sapphire/Ink cards use UR points -- you can move them around b/w cards as you like

I currently have a Chase Sapphire Reserve (got it Nov 2016). Just tried to apply for the Sapphire Preferred to try and get the 50K points, but was denied because I already had the Reserve. I obviously didn't read the rules beforehand...

Now I am looking at going for the Ink Business Cash instead of the Unlimited because the 2% on gas stations and restaurants is more appealing than just 1.5% on purchases for my nonexistent business. I know that I am to list myself as the sole proprietor and use my SSN.

Question is... can I apply now or do I have to wait a month?

Really? so I can downgrade all ink or sapphire card with annual fee ver. to no annual fee ver. and still can use UR points w/o become cash back reward.

They stay UR points but ideally you'd want one premium card (sapphire preferred/reserve or ink preferred) that you move all your points to so that you can access the travel portal and transfer partners.

thanks a lot to confirm.

my UR point used for airline transfer point only. so based on your info, at least I need to keep one premium card (w/ annual fee series) to make all the UR point family work. So when I decide to downgrade, I gotta pay attention.

thx

I think the thread title should change to 50,000 UR points instead of $500 cash back. That's a huge difference for those that optimize UR points

Yeah this is why keeping the CSR is generally the best option- once you consider you have to spend at least $95/yr in annual fees to be able to transfer, and you knock off the value of the travel credit, the CSR only really "costs" $55 a year more, and you get a ton of worthwhile benefits for that 55 bucks compared to the other options.

30 day request review by mail for me. All my credit is frozen and I didn't want to pay to unlock all 3 so I figured this way they may indicate which one I need to unfreeze. I looked on doctor of credit and experian and equifax seem most common for my state but it's not 100%

Yes -- need to be under 5/24 to apply

Doesn't add to your 5/24 count if approved since Chase biz cards do not show up on your personal credit reports
