What you should have done (and could do in 30 days if you wish to reapply) is to simply apply as a "Sole Proprietor". From that point, pick a category/subcategory that makes sense for you, put minimal levels of income and years in business. I have gotten 3 Chase business cards doing exactly that (2 using my SSN, the 3rd with an EIN), as have a large number of other people - oddly enough, it is easier to get approved following those steps than for legitimate small business owners applying for their businesses.
One thing to know, the buyer protections granted to customers of non-business VISA cards may not come with the business card. You may want to check carefully before using this card for higher risk purchases.

Try again, I sorta remember I ran into some issues but this was months ago so I don't remember the exact details.

In the end today I got a call back from someone at fraud protection at Chase who told me they weren't seeing the address verification charge of $0.00 from Paypal coming through. So, I simply made a new paypal account with another email address and viola, the card was successfully added and the agent could see the address verification charge immediately on his end.
My guess is, paypal didn't like that I had 2 chase cards on the same account. I also have my chase freedom on my original account, and it didn't accept that I would also have this chase business card. Of course, completely different account numbers and even log-ins, but nonetheless that's how I resolved it. Hope it saves you or someone else hours of trouble.

Score till last month 810
Dropped to 760 this month as we bought a home and had some expenses on my credit card. 0 % to 6% jump in credit utlization in last 1 month.
I have 25k revenue for my business.
I already have a united business and ink business card with total limits of 31k.
The reason i was given is that i didnt use enough credit limit to get another card.
Any suggestions how to get around this ? SHould i apply again and talk to recon again?

I want to wait a few more weeks when the 3 month period would land a little around and after Black Friday, just in case I don't make the $3000 mark, because I know I'll be spending more money around that time.

One suggestion I've read is to call and have them move credit from another card to this new card.
Probably the best option given their response to your application.

EDIT: Chase got back with me over Secure Messaging: "Office Max/ Depot categorizes themselves as "Direct Marketing-Combination Catalog and Retail Merchants" with VisaCard, which isn't in the bonus category. We regret for the inconvenience caused to you." I'm wondering if that just applies to online purchases at Office Depot/Max... Lots of websites say that Office Depot/Max do get 5% back with this card. I'm unsure of why there is as discrepancy. I'll do an in store purchase tomorrow and see if that qualifies.
I haven't tried it in store yet (just didn't make the purchase I thought I was going to make). I can give an update though on what's happened since my post. Chase sent me a letter asking me to outline the issue. I sent receipts and copies of my statement/UR statement yesterday and will keep you posted. I just don't see how it is listed as Direct Marketing, when I searched through a Visa registry, Office Depot is listed as an office supply store. I still think it is just an error.
