You did it wrong. And applying with your SSN had nothing to do with your decline. Don't pretend to have an elaborate business that you can't back up - even if you can stretch it to seem kinda plausible.

What you should have done (and could do in 30 days if you wish to reapply) is to simply apply as a "Sole Proprietor". From that point, pick a category/subcategory that makes sense for you, put minimal levels of income and years in business. I have gotten 3 Chase business cards doing exactly that (2 using my SSN, the 3rd with an EIN), as have a large number of other people - oddly enough, it is easier to get approved following those steps than for legitimate small business owners applying for their businesses.
That one has an annual fee and requires $5k spending from what I can see, but the CB and bonus amount are indeed better.
When I signed up years ago, basic Ebay sellers were viewed as a business. Today YMMV but I still have the card.

One thing to know, the buyer protections granted to customers of non-business VISA cards may not come with the business card. You may want to check carefully before using this card for higher risk purchases.

You can reapply after waiting at least 30 days from the date of your original application.

I have 839 FICO score and open only AMEX Platinum in the past two year, I good income but still didn't approved instantaneously. Did I made a mistake? I applied under my name, SSN and home address, although I have legitimate business and EIN number which I didn't used.

I have had the Ink Card for a long time but I wanted my significant other to get an Ink Card to make the $500. She is in the exact same situation as you 830+ Fico, except she has not applied for any cards in the last couple years. I have two Corps but want this in her name as a Sole Proprietor so I had her apply as a Sole Proprietor.

She gets credit card offers mailed to her ALL the time, so was shocked that she wasn't instantly approved. Anyway, I was going to have her call Chase to find out the status but we got busy > then about two weeks later she got an email saying she was approved & the card was being sent. So I'd be patient and wait a couple weeks. FYI, others also reported no rhyme or reason to the approval time on Dr. of Credit.

It's pretty rare to get instant approval on biz cards for chase regardless of your circumstances.

Follow the flowchart (that has been posted like 97 times in this and every other chase card thread)

At least you got an email. I didn't know I was approved until my cards "randomly" showed up. I too wanted to call and forgot.

the 18th was the last day to spend the 3k. I purchased some things on the 16 and 17th but they still show up as pending. The purchases on the 16th how up as 18th.

Do they go by the posting date? I took screenshots of the online portal showing all the purchases pending with the 17th date just in case.

Anyone know if I buy gift cards (non-VISA) from Staples, if it'd still apply for the 5% cash back?

Thanks in advance, would appreciate anyone's time. Sorry if I missed it somewhere in the thread.

Hi. If you bought the cards at an office supply store (ie. Staples), do you also get the 5% cash back?

They go by the sale date, if you call them they will confirm that and they will tell you your final date for buying that will count towards the 3k.

I buy eBay gift cards at Office Depot all the time and get the 5% cashback. I don't remember for sure if Staples works the same way but I believe it does.

I've just started a LLC, so when they run credit on my EIN, they won't find much. Will I get approved? Thanks in advance.

Almost any purchase at Staples should get 5% UR earnings. I've bought amazon gift cards at staples and the purchase earned 5%. Chase isn't like the cashback sites that stipulate gift cards don't count, Chase doesn't seem care what is bought. As long as the purchase codes towards whatever bonus category you're trying to fit the purchase into you should get the bonus UR earnings.

Applying for this card without business and using for personal expenses , causes any legal issues or fines ? The terms and conditions clearly says , this card should not be used for personal expenses. Please advise. Thanks...
