You did it wrong. And applying with your SSN had nothing to do with your decline. Don't pretend to have an elaborate business that you can't back up - even if you can stretch it to seem kinda plausible.

What you should have done (and could do in 30 days if you wish to reapply) is to simply apply as a "Sole Proprietor". From that point, pick a category/subcategory that makes sense for you, put minimal levels of income and years in business. I have gotten 3 Chase business cards doing exactly that (2 using my SSN, the 3rd with an EIN), as have a large number of other people - oddly enough, it is easier to get approved following those steps than for legitimate small business owners applying for their businesses.
That one has an annual fee and requires $5k spending from what I can see, but the CB and bonus amount are indeed better.
When I signed up years ago, basic Ebay sellers were viewed as a business. Today YMMV but I still have the card.

One thing to know, the buyer protections granted to customers of non-business VISA cards may not come with the business card. You may want to check carefully before using this card for higher risk purchases.

Anyone know if I can pay for my daughters braces and get the cash back. Is that considered a qualified purchase?
Yes, that should count as a purchase

Followed the advice online for applying as a sole proprietor. Received a soft rejection in the mail and they want a whole bunch of info mailed to qualify. No thanks!

Just a heads up, a 7-10 day message is not a death sentence.

"We're still reveiwing your application. We'll let you know within 7-10 days"

Called the recon line. They told me to reply to a letter regarding my EIN. I advised them I use my SSN (as I do for my legit business which has been on schedule Cs for a few years). They also asked to send a text message confirmation number to my phone. After that I was approved! I was told to wait a few weeks for the card. Immediately asked for expedite and it was granted, stating I should receive it in about 2 to 3 days.

Given this, I probably wouldn't wait if you're getting the "7-10 days" message that doesn't explicitly say you were denied. (I've noticed some people stating they get 7-10 days for rejected statuses as well).

Application was under review, I called 2 days later and got approved, card expedited. Sole proprietor (which is legit but not like they can check).

Chase is such a pain in the ass... I had a slate card with them but yet I was denied.... Signed up for the capital spark and was immediately approved.

Has someone who has actually received the $500 bonus comment -- The bonus apparently applies as points not credit. Since the promotion says "cash back" can I assume the points can convert to $500 cash ?

Start by doing some research on apply for Chase business cards. You can find tons of resources on Google. I'd wait until May or June to apply, since Chase might question why you need another card so soon.

Just answer the questions honestly. It's fairly straight forward, and there are descriptions explaining each of the boxes. If you don't have a business name, just put your full name. Just select the Industry/Category/Type that is relevant. If you don't have an LLC, then you are a Sole Proprietor.

So if I rent my house for $2500 a month and I have proof for that which a company is managing my property for 2 years, can I put the annual income $30,000 also I'm wondering if I can open the new card on April to separate my own and the business expenses!!!!!

That sounds legitimate to me, and separating personal and business expenses seems like a reasonable reason for a business CC.
