Good question, I know he started with powdered ruby-quartz crystal, but Iridium could very well work. But either way, I think these would leave too much of a gap around the top/bottom/sides for the lasers to bounce around and leak out of. Need something that creates a seal against the face.

Bad price for these. I picked up a pair of new polarized blue ones for $95 off ebay a year ago.

If you've never dealt with polarization, I'd recommend against it. It can often darken screens to the point where they're impossible to see in sunlight.

I don't think you can compare the two. The ebay link is for regular gradient lenses...

These are both standard iridium and not prizm. The main difference is chrome is 12% light transmission versus 16% light transmission of the ruby iridium.

My point is this is a truly terrible price for these glasses unless they are polarized.
