While at HD this morning I saw the Ryobi 18-Volt ONE+ Impact Wrench Kit (Tool, Battery, Charger) P1830 on sale for the unheard of price of $70. Ubviously this is a YMMV deal, but if you can find one it would be a no-brainer. I found mine at the HD in Homer Glen, IL, but the price does not show up on their web site. This item hit FP last December for $99 and June for $119. (link for reference only)

Attached is a scan of my receipt for your viewing pleasure. Good luck to those interested!

I love Ryobi tools and have a bunch, but is there much use for this tool outside of switching out car tires?

Love mine! It's a great tool and imho is more than worth it even just for changing tires as it sure beats using the lug wrench. The battery power is convenient in no hose or tanks to mess with(though that direction may still be cheaper even with this deal). It also has more than enough power to pull the lugs off my half ton truck.

For those who do their own auto work, it may be worth while just for the freedom it grants from the compressor and hose. It'll probably have issues if you have lugs that require a lot of torque, though most car tires should be perfectly fine.

I had the Craftsman Version of this and while it does have a lot of torque it is half of what is offered through the Brushless version of Dewalt or Milwaukee. The rims on my truck are torqued to about 120ftlbs and these wrenches can struggle getting them loose! I sold my Craftsman and purchased the Dewalt Brushless 20v as a bare tool as I already had the batteries and it works great on lug nuts!

Thanks, very helpful. I'll grab it just to change out tires. Might even keep one in my car just in case.

When properly sorted, the reviews for this thing are horrendous. I'm a Ryobi fan, but I'll wait for the brushless version to come out before I get a cordless impact wrench I guess.

I've had the opposite experience with mine, it's busted bolts loose that my 400 ft/lb air impact has had trouble with. One thing I've noticed is that it's imperative to use a fresh 4ah battery to get best performance.

I also love Ryobi tools, best value for the dollar, but this couldn't loosen the wheel nuts on my car. Had to get a pneumatic impact wrench.

Also have one. Will break lugs on any car that I've tried that's been put on at the proper torque with a torque wrench. Will not break heavily over-torqued lugs (for instance, if some monkey tightened them with an air impact turned all the way up at 120PSI). Will not break lugs on motor home or heavy trucks. Will break most rusty suspension bolts (tried it on a few in the junk yard). I *love* mine and think it was worth the money, and I paid $50 more than this for essentially the same kit with an upgraded charger.

I think it's worth it just because it feels like cheating when I go pull parts for my car in the u-pull junk yard (I'm a cheapskate, don't like to buy parts).

Same here. Changing out a wheel hub (for bad bearing) on an '07 Ford Explorer, this thing had no issue w/ the axle nut, caliper bolts, or anything else w/ a fully charged 4ah battery.

Checked my local store, 49418, and they had the standard price of $179. Even double checked with a price check.
