Just comes down to loading times. Depends on the size of the game. Overall you'll benefit from a SSD anyways. But probably won't notice a huge huge difference given it's for your PS4.
It's not going to win any speed records but it's decent for SATA SSDs and it's 2 Terabytes. I bought it at $320 about a month ago and I am pleased with it. It replaced a 1TB WD Black HDD I was using to store Steam Games.

Would I be missing out on anything, performance wise, using this drive instead of a Samsung 850/860 EVO for a PlayStation 4?

Oddly enough I read you'll get better loading speeds if you use a USB 3.0 external SSD than actually installing it in your PS4. So maybe pickup this drive and find a cheap usb 3 enclosure to turn it into an external?
That was on a $40 site wide coupon and was out of stock after a while. For those of us that weren't able to jump on that deal, this one is good considering everywhere else is above $300.
