Other options also reduced: (Not sure why someone edited post to list as NLA? Many of my local stores have all 3 versions available. Zip: 44515 https://www.homedepot.com/p/ROCKW.../202090820
In the process of finishing basement and home theater. Will this be good to put in the ceiling for sound proofing?
Yes it's a good option for filling between your joists as part of a sound reduction job. Assuming you have 16" joist spacing of course. Only effective as part of a wider reaching ceiling assembly designed for sound proofing of course, won't do that much on its own.

just wiped out my store and got 14 bags. Hopefully that will do.
Doesn't seem to be the case in South NJ. Home depot seems to be switching insulation supplier in some markets. Our local home depot no longer carries Owens products, but has Knauf fiberglass. Owens products were on massive discounts during the switch. This might be a similar case.
Used this exact stuff on my basement finishing project in walls and ceiling. It gives great sound separation between levels, well worth the cost and time to do. Be sure to wear a mask when putting this stuff up though...

Stuff was $28 last week. GREAT DEAL. I wonder why the price drop so suddenly... It is nasty to install.
descriptions says walls floor and ceilings
not sure how cost effective this is however, 1 bag covers 60sqft... reviews seem very good, so I would say go for it
