OK. So we know what everyone looks like and what everyone does for a living. This thread will be about your pets.
I have two dogs, Bailey and Kayla. Here is a recent pic of them. Don't make fun of Bailey's shirt, he had an allergic reaction to some shampoo and needs to wear it until he stops itching at it.

When I grow up I want a salt water tank too
Most people don't like Oscars because they are a messy fish but I clean his tank each week and get a lot of enjoyment in having him. Oscars are the friendliest fish I have kept. Very curious about everything and follow you from one end of the tank to the other. Very aggressive eaters as you pointed out.
I kept cichlids for a while but they were really aggressive and I didn't have a big enough tank to make nice cave areas so they could stake their claim. They also tended to rearrange the tank especially moving gravel and piling it in the corner of the tank. I really loved the different varieties and colors you could get in cichlids.
The knife fish are awesome! I had an elephant nose a few years ago. They are quite a bit alike. Just couldn't keep him alive.
I have 3 tanks right now but would really like to add a 75 gallon, corner bow front in the den and fill it with disc maybe
so...you and fish....hobby? obsession? part of your career (or field at least)?

55 gallon freshwater community: 1 tiger oscar, 1 Gold Sexfasciatus Cichlid (yellow one), 1 pleco, 1 convict cichlid, 1 Moorei Cichlid (blue one), used to have 1 red eye puffer (just died the other day, not sure how
55 gallon saltwater community: 45 lbs. live rock, 40 lbs. live sand, 1 four stripe damsel
i love the cichlids, i would like to add a double full red cockatoo cichlid, but they're around $50 and i think the posse would take them out since they "normally" only get to around 4"

You set up what you think is the perfect tank with the perfect fish and than you see other fish you like or a different kinda set-up you like ...so than you buy another tank and so on and so on. I have been very lucky in picking up really inexpensive tanks at garage sales and than just adding the right pump and filter systems. They are very enjoyable to have around

I have a 55 gallon with green severuns, a Hero's sevrum, 1 redtail shark, 4 silver dollars, 2 large plecos, and 3 Coolie loaches.
A 39 gallon with Mr. Oscar and a large pleco.
A 25 gallon with freshwater trops: neons, rasborins, blackskirt tetras, fancy guppies, a pleco, and some tiger barbs (which are a bit agressive and i will have to move before they get much bigger).

Corey just turned 15 years old last month. She was adopted at 8 months old the day before she was to be put to sleep at the Humane Society.
Tugger was about to be brought to the Humane Society but instead ended up here. I love this picture of his king-size yawn.
