Oooh, $280 for a 2700X?!? If I didn't already own an 1800X and I was looking to build a PC right now, I would snap that up as a gamer and streamer.
It's NOT the fastest in pure speed on average, but we're talking <5% difference when it's behind.
However, when it comes to multi-tasking or render/encode heavy applications, it wipes the floor with any competition.
It's great to see AMD competitive again, hopefully they push Intel to do the same!
And the 2700x beats the 8700k in all other multi-threaded workflows.
