Why is that? I would intuitively feel the opposite. More likely to be cheated by individuals than a company.

There's the VR version. Man I wish I would have held out for this deal.

A lot of photographers will tell you its better to buy a used (not refurb) lens than it is to buy a refurbished one ie some of the top photographers on YouTube. But if you're okay with the gamble, it's an excellent deal and I personally love the lens.. got ours at full retail. :/

I used it in Tennessee with zero issues whatsoever including animal shots at a very long distance.

I love this lens, use it on my d3300 with 0 issues. Focus is really fast and on point, almost completely silent when focusing.

Does this work with D3100?

Ok, so what am I missing? They look to be $155 new on eBay. Or is this a different lens?

I use it on my d3300 as well. I bought it specifically for getting shots of the owls in my neighborhood. It's a great lens!

This is a great deal, and I would trust Adorama's refurbs over some sites' "new". Nothing against those other sites, but my record with Adorama refurbs has been perfect.

As far as I can see.

"new" grey market import from eBay vs manufacturer refurb from reputable camera store. It's a toss up. Last time I ordered a similar lens from ebay they ended up sending me the non-VR version instead, got it returned but was a small hassle.

Likewise. It's not tack sharp nor suitable for a pro, but it's $150! I've loved mine for what it is. Would have to spend much, much more money for better image quality and features. Zero complaints.

Warranty: Import Model , 1yr USA warranty by seller
Seller Warranty: 1yr Parts , 30 day Labor warranty by seller

Looks like an import model that has no factory USA warranty so the seller has their own warranty. So you have a 1 year parts warranty and 30 day labor warranty by the seller and not Nikon as far as I can tell.

Edit: The lens in the OP from Adorama will have a Nikon 90 Day Warranty.
