If you're buying a Embody, Smart Furniture is still a better option for those that get taxed at Office Designs
If you know an interior designer, they can give you around 40-50%off. Otherwise, this is a great deal.
You are more than welcome to disagree. I upgraded my previous Aeron with standard lumbar support pad the slides up and down. It was great for the 6 years that I used it. I bought a new Aeron chair early last year and opted for the posturefit sl support. It is the first time that I have ever had a chair that provided support through my entire range of movement.

The new aeron with seat angle adjustment is able to lean forward 15 degrees. I use this feature quite often when I am leaving over and working on design drawings. The posturefit sl support leans forward with me and helps promote correct lower back support even when I am leaned forward. The old design only worked when siting upright. The new posturefit sl works through the entire range of movements.

As someone that had an original aeron for 6 years and been using the new remastered aeron for about a year and half, I can say that the posturefit sl was a massive improvement for me.

EDIT: Just re-read your comment. I am not sure if you are talking about the old posturefit [ssl-images-amazon.com] or the new posturefit [grshop.com]. I think you are referring to the old posturefit, which was not very well liked. The new posturefit is a massive improvement and offers significantly more support than the base lumbar pillow.

Thanks OP, I know HM has yearly sales including the authorized resellers - is this that, or should I hold out for the larger sale expected soon?

Booo to whomever downvoted "Other", upvoting to counter.

I believe this is their annual sale as the same 15% off happened at the same time last year. Not sure if they ever go higher than 15% off.

Amazing deal. I am currently using a Aeron chair at work and I love it. The posturefit support is well worth the upgrade.

Trade pricing doesn't stack with the 15% off, does it?

Disagree. I removed my Posturefit from my Aeron and went back to the original lumbar support. I'm sure it works great for some people with some problems but one of the features of the Aeron is that it "moves" with you and if you use the Posturefit, you have to have it locked totally upright.

Do your own research and determine if it's right for you, rather than just assuming it's a great upgrade.

I've used HM chairs in the past and think they are definitely worth it but there seems to be a lot more options/types than I remember way back. Is there a site that has reputable reviews or differences to help pick out which chair is best? I'm presuming the more expensive the better but that isn't always the case and I may not need all the bells and whistles on the more expensive models. Just basically looking for a nice comfortable chair for my desk at work that I sit in for 8 hours a day.

TIA

I bought a fully adjustable Aeron size C in smoke titanium from Craigslist about 4 years ago that was already 4 or 5 years old. It essentially still looks new, and since I work from home it gets used 40+ hours a week. About the only issue I have is that the arms tend to unlock and have to be repositioned. There might be a fix but I've not looked for it. My point though is that they are built to last, and if it is a chair you find comfortable it's worth it. I'm a big guy and I love mine. I paid $350 and it was absolutely worth it.

You should absoultey visit your local authorized dealer. Not only will you get to try the thing, you can sometimes get a big discount. I got the caster upgrade and armrest. I picked the color I wanted and got to feel the fabric. I ended up paying around $1100 including tax.

That's not how percentages work. It's more like...

Price of item x 0.85 x 0.95

Anecdotal Experience:

I've used an Aeron chair w/ posturefit for the past 2 years. I did a lot of research prior to purchase and I read an Amazon review that said the size "C" will probably fit a lot more people than "B". At the time I was 5'10" ~265lbs so I was right on the border.

I should have gotten the "B". The "C" cuts off circulation right at the thighs for me and contributed to lots of sleepless nights and restless leg syndrome. Now I'm ~175lbs and the situation has exacerbated so much that I just gave away the chair.

My conclusion is that if you don't have the height, don't get the "C". Your width/weight is definitely not as important of a criteria as your height.
