so the stone brewery was awesome. got myself a 2L growler of ruination and ended up getting a ruination t-shirt as well laugh out loud

i wore my DFH shirt, which lots of people loved to comment about... made some friends laugh out loud even the stone brewery tour guide said she liked the shirt. it was a very cool tour... smelled good in there drool also saw some guy using the gravity-checking station with a hydrometer.

note to self: do not go on the 1st day of Stone's "winter storm." The entire parking lot was full (ended up doing the "excuse me, are you leaving? .. okay we'll follow you." We did not have reservations and therefore could not sit in the dining area. We could only sit in the cocktail area and you have to hawk your own table. People were waiting for hours to get a table and then you could only order off the appetizers menu.

short story: got there at noon, tried to get a table, decided instead to wait in line for 20 mins to get a tour ticket at 1:00. got a tour ticket, then went to the bar and grabbed a beer. walked around, mingled, tried again to get a table. got one at 2:00, finally got served at 2:20 and asked the waitress "we have the tour at 3:00, are we going to be able to get food before then?" No, she replied. ordered another beer instead. 3:00 tour was great... four free samples at the end (i got 5 free samples for befriending the tour guide). finally ate lunch (appetizers...) at 4:15-4:30ish.

they had a lot available on tap for growler fills.. dont think it was more than normal though. by the way, how long does beer stay in a growler? once you open it, does it lose a lot of its carbonation like a normal bottle? if so, i'm going to be drinking a lot of flat Ruination.
