Good deal. I put one of these in an old laptop and it's working fine. Can't speak to longevity but it's well reviewed on Microcenter. Apparently has MLC flash even.

Note the 128GB drive is only $26, that's also a good deal.

If you have a Microcenter nearby, you can get this in store for $44.99 + tax and can even use the $5 off $30 printable coupon from retail me not (google it).

Surprised this isn't on the front page. Super slick deal for a 240GB MLC SSD with DRAM cache, 3 year warranty

Buyer beware: the 240GB drive I just received & tested in CrystalDisk had decent read speeds but terrible write speeds, worse than a spinning hard disk.

EDIT: This was a problem with Diskmark. Retesting with AS SSD shows good write speeds. Sequential is not as good as my 850 Evo but the 4k is better. I will be keeping the drive.

sounds like you're testing via a USB enclosure in which case it's user error and not a revelation. need a real SATA connection and then the results will be as expected.

~350 MB/s read (sequential)
~73 MB/s read (4KiB Q8T8 & 4KiB Q32T1)
~17.5 MB/s write (4KiB Q1T1)

~63 MB/s write (sequential Q32T1)
~6.7 MB/s write (4KiB Q8T8 & 4KiB Q32T1)
~6.3 MB/s write (4KiB Q1T1)

I will be returning. Definitely test b'efore installing.

Is this better than the 256GB Silicon Power SSD on Amazon for $10 more?

It was a problem with Crystal Diskmark, I've edited my post. Drive works fine.

Any opinion on reliability? Is it just a luck of the draw? (I guess it's always best to back up irreplaceable data)
Every budget ssd I've considered seems to have reviews having ssd dead within 1 year, and the replacement also dies months later. Eg. Adata, inland, addlink, crucial and pny.
but this price is one of the best.
