Actually it would be one extra year since 2/4 years is provided by the Costco Visa card which does not seem to exclude purchases not made at Costco. (i.e. The Lenovo website)

Does anyone have any experience with the x1 carbon and an egpu? Specifically temps? I've searched around but usually just setups.

I suspect ranajit.chatter was referring to the extra value provided by the extra couple years of warranty by purchasing the Costco model. joekim007's pricing doesn't account for that, just the improved device components.

With an Intel U processor you should be able to get decent gaming with a GTX 1060 and external monitor.

From what I'have read, anything above that and/or using the screen of the laptop will be a waste of money.

How to get this discount? For instance, I see a base P51 for $992.67. Where and how do I get the 33% discount for ~$665?

The Costco model comes with the following warranty:

1st Year - Covered by Lenovo
2nd Year - Covered by Costco
3rd and 4th Year - Covered by VISA if you use a Costco Visa Card
Total 4 years

If you use the Costco VISA card to purchase from the Lenovo website:
1st Year - Covered by Lenovo
2nd and 3rd Year - Covered by VISA

So basically you get one extra year of warranty if you purchase at Costco.

To compare apples to apples, you can add an extra year of warranty via the Lenovo website for $54 and you get fours years of warranty as well.
