No, that's a 5th gen.. this one is 6th
you probably got a 5th generation one (A9 processor and no pencil support). My friend told me it is worth to spend extra 50-70 dollars to get a newer model (with new processor), aka 6th generation.
Warning about a bad Apple policy that few people knew about:

Each new iPad includes free licenses to Apple productivity apps Pages, Numbers, and Keynotes. They are like Microsoft Office apps Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The first user who activates the iPad claims those free licenses in that user's Apple account.

Open box iPad which has been activated and reset will lose those apps. I owned multiple iPads, so I had those licenses in my account to download those apps. My niece did not have those licenses, so she had to buy those apps for about $30.

We paid $30 to learn this lesson. Hopefully, my post may save you $30. If Apple is listening, please change this unfriendly policy. Apple products have high resell values. This is why we (Apple fans) are willing to pay more $ for them.

Wait why is this a bad deal? I thought I just looked at Costco and it was $650? Or am I looking at two different things?

Oh that's an iPad Pro at Costco...not that I know the difference. It's for my Mom...she surfs and checks email...you would think a regular iPad would be enough.

Yeah the TD's are strange. This is a solid deal for the 2018 models. Might spring on the open box models for my kids. Hm...or wait for the 2017's to hit the $199 range. Hm hm.

I'm hoping these will drop to $259 like they did last summer at Microcenter.

Me thinks they think new ipads are coming June 4th but... my spidey sense and other credible sources is telling me they are not coming till 3rd or 4th quarter. Thats why the wrong thumbs down. lol
That would seem crazy to me. I think the 2018 iPads came out in April of this year. I think people are dreaming if they think they are going to announce another one two months later, but hey, I'll cancel my order if they do. Peace

They will probably announce the new Pro lines (10.5" and 12.9"). They will most definitely not announce another regular 9.7" iPad.

If you want to go for Pro, wait for the announcement for sure. However, if you are going for the regular one, it is nothing of importance.

Edit: I stand corrected, Walmart is selling the 5th gen at the prices listed below. This deal is for the 2018/6th gen version.

Quote from DeathCab :
Walmart is selling the [2017/5th gen] 128GB brand new for $329.99. That's probably part of the reason for the TD.
