i took this picture of a water main, that was shooting tons of water in my neighborhood. too bad its on my computer at home Frown. maybe next time. it was going for about 4 hours!

I took these last week using a Canon 10d and Sigma 100mm macro lens
[quite large, 2mbs each so if you are not on broadband, don't bother]

actually, it was intended for the material the house is made of, with all the little pieces of hay in the mud. The bowl and the chilis just happened to be there, but which add that little extra to the pic.

I took that picture this summer while in Paris. it kinda looks like a poster picture or something, I like it even if it is plain.

It's called 'adobe', generally made with clay and straw. Very prominent throughout Mexico and north into in New Mexico.

Well it's not a bug, its an insect and as to what kind of insect it is; it is in the family Lepidoptera, which is the butterflies and moths, this particular species is a Calleta silkmoth (Eupackardia calleta). Quite a stunning specimen, we collected and raised the caterpillar until it pupated. It was in it's cocoon (pupa) for over 12 months before hatching out this last week.
