SD user "john4769" had success trading in his PS4 for a Switch and then returning it in a separate transaction for credit off a PS4 Pro. Here's the link to his post.

The guy at this store noticed I purchased the switch today (since gift receipt was printed today instead of yesterday) and said any reason you want to return it? I said this was a gift and I'm more of a playstation guy and he said "oh ok cool so let's see if we can get you that gift card with full credit back". He tried scanning the bar code but seemed to be having trouble as if the sku wasn't picking up in the system from the switch and from the receipts bar code. So after a few tries the guy I guess refunded me the gift card manually possibly due to the trouble he's having and I got the card with $325.86 full return!! I think he could have been having trouble because the promo code isn't showing with the gift receipt bar code since I didn't give him the original purchase receipt. But as you can see it's a different gamestop from the location printed on the top of the receipt compared to the first image posted and I received full refund back on gift card as you can see from where it say's RETURN on the receipt. I asked to exchange for a ps4 pro instead of this whole card process but the guy said he was all out so I just asked for the gift card at least to walk out with: https://imgur.com/c6NbNJR Step 3: Another 10 minutes go by and I'm back to the 1st gamestop and asked the same guy who printed me the gift receipt if he had any ps4 pro's in stock and said he has just a few left and they're selling quick but we just got a shipment in yesterday and don't know if we'll have em later, I kind of hesitated walking back to my car in hopes that he doesn't know I'm scheming but I said F**k it I'm here already and I don't want to lose the chance. returns just hurt their numbers. That's all most of the employees care about because that's what their managers bitch at them about daily.
Now to wait on a good 1X deal to replace my S
I told the guy I was trading in PS4 for Switch. He warned before doing anything that all sales were final because of people immediately trading in the Switch for credit. I didn't even tell him I was gonna try to get the PS4 Pro.
Over the phone, when they tried trading ps4 and xbox one s for one switch only one console came up for 250 and the other just received a trade bonus (I forget the percentage).
I will just sell the switch units hopefully fast.

I was taxed on the whole $299.99 (CT) so it came to $69 and change for the Switch.
They required a micro usb for my PlayStation since controller has built in battery he said you have to so that dampened my deal a little
