It's UV, which is still, really, better than MA, because it allows sharing with users who use different credit cards. (Both Google and Apple's sharing mechanics require a single credit card be used for purchases.)

Additionally, while UV is losing steam, MA is gaining. It "probably" won't be stuck to Vudu, because Lionsgate will almost certainly eventually join MA, it's just a matter of when.

It's not over abundantly sentimental, and it subverts the traditional hollywood ending a little. However it's definitely still a romantic musical and it hits almost all of the notes of those genres.

Also it doesn't seem to have an agenda or political leanings. It even had a bit of controversy back when it came out due to it being a movie about jazz, but has very little representation of black people, the pioneers of jazz.

I just got the HD version a couple weeks ago. I guess I should watch it to see if I want to upgrade.

The movie is good. Stone and Gosling are very good together. There is a little cheese, but overall, it's a well acted movie with a decent story. Don't expect anything groundbreaking though.
