I dont get all the facebook settings, who can see what...what is private and who its private from. I have an ex that scares the crap out of me. We have basically hidden from him for 7 yrs, this FB makes me really nervous putting anything out there about me or my kids that anyone would see without me being aware of it.

My older kids have accts. My daughter made one for me one night and for a day or so it was fun, my older kids friends would send me notes (im adopta-mom to a bunch) but then people started finding me out of the blue and it made me really nervous so I deactivated. I just dont get how people find you so easily and randomly when I think I have it locked down? It would be fun to have for close friends, kids, kids friends, but so not worth the risk of this ex. He is so scary the courts wont let him have our address or phone number...that takes alot! He does know where we are, but 7 yrs of silence is golden.

he can find your profile page which just has basic info, and a pic you set up based on name/emails/ other private info.

he shouldn't be able to bug you without actually accepting him.. all he can do is send a friend request with a short messqage, and poke you (give you a 24 hr view into his facebook page).

Don't make yourself part of a network and no one except your friends will see anything. Don't even put your real name or email address or picture.

I am currently not friends with matt, but this is all I can see of his profile. I've blurred out personal details, which you can lie about if you want.

Without real name or usual email, no one will see find or see you unless you add them. Some dude on my friends list change his name and profile so that he was Jem. Yeah weird, but funny.

Im ok with that, not much he can really do with that. I assume he knows what I look like laugh out loud but I wouldnt want him to have any access to pics of my little ones or be able to see what is going on with life in any way, when we come and go, when they are off track, if I am working or not...those kinds of things. I am totally paranoid about these little guys. They dont walk anywhere alone, do anything alone even after all this time. We lived for years with drills, backup plans for when he busted in and all holy hell broke loose. Sadly we were quite good with them when we needed to be. After 7 years of peace and kids not having to live that way, I dont want to do anything that would start any of that back up. Its not a good way to live much less you dont sleep well at night! This past summer I thought I saw his truck in the front as someone came to the door, its amazing how fast you flash back and jump back into those drills. It was kinda funny afterwards but not at the time! This is the first year (with the help of ambien) that I can actually sleep through the night. That is priceless!
