About half a year ago Harbor Freight recalled their trailer tires and stopped selling all their trailers.
There are practically no trailers that come anywhere close to even the full price of the Harbor Freight trailers anywhere I looked.
I've even seen old Harbor Freight trailers on Craigslist selling for the full retail price during this period.

I ended up getting a different smaller trailer on Craigslist that I had to completely rebuild for about the price of these a few months ago.

Coupons for these trailers may be coming eventually.

Northern Tool also had a folding trailer that was taken off the shelf that has returned. They may have had more that I just didn't notice.

1090 lbs. Capacity 40-1/2 in x 48 in Utility Trailer [harborfreight.com] - $290

1195 lbs. Capacity 48 in. x 96 in. Heavy Duty Folding Trailer [harborfreight.com] - $350

1720 lbs. Capacity 48 in. x 96 in. Super Duty Folding Trailer [harborfreight.com] - $450

Ironton 4ft. x 8ft. Folding Utility Trailer Kit — 1170-Lb. Load Capacity [northerntool.com] - $450

(Slickdeals only let me select the images of the Northern Tool trailer for the post)

I just wish they would come out with an aluminum model. Better yet, one with a composite bed similar to the "Floe Cargo Max". If they came out with a trailer like that in the $500-700 it would be a huge seller.

The northern trailer is exactly the same item? But black? Kind of prefer black, but would t mind a lower price if it's possible to get the HF one on a decent discount.
It's not, look at the tongue design in the pics, it allows the NT version to tilt back while hitched. Not sure if you can do that with the HF version. Might be a helpful thing for loading/unloading depending on what you're hauling, might not.

Since my harbor freights don't have these I'm going to try NT this morning, will confirm if I get one.

Edit: Back to the house with the NT version, half way assembled. Different tongue design than the HF one. Also I believe the coupler is a 1 7/8" HF uses a 2"

Had foldibg one since '09. Works like champ. Purchased on sale and with a 25% off coupon (domt know if coupons fine print exclude them now or not) and it was a steal. Bought spare, had all three balances at tire shop. Added some steel and single 4x8 sheet of marine grade plywood to make it more ridgid and non- folding. Sides put of cedar posts and galv cattle panels. Grease hubs regularly with high temp ( red) grease. have full set of bearings on standby. bough on Amazon <$30 total. Haven't had any problems. Highly recommend.

I wouldn't trust it to haul anything besides maybe a stuffed animal... Harbor freight = garbage

I've used mine for hauling a motorcycle a few hours drive several times. Hauling some trash. Moving a riding lawnmower. Even went over 55. Still is fine.

Good to know these are back. Any good deals on a hitch?
FWIW, I have had 2 experiences buying hitches from e-trailers online, and both times I was more than satisfied with the service and installation support. Prices were good as well.

The last HFT trailer I bought was also 1 7/8"

Can you provide a link for the bearings and grease used?

If you get one of these, be sure to repack the bearings with grease and you should be good to go. I've heard stories of bearings burning up in just a few miles

Trying to find one that extends the tongue without welding. Just need something for getting a heavy canoe to the lake.

There's no such thing. The best single thread was on texaskayakfishing forums (probably this one here [texaskayakfisherman.com]), but it didn't come close to including all of the best designs. For that, you have to use google.

The best design I found after scouring all sources is using PVC as bunks and then extend the tongue by finding a local metal supply shop that sells steel tubing. You can bolt it and/or have it welded on. The PVC bunks support the kayak lengthwise which prevents hull deformation when storing it on there for longer periods. I cheaped out and just used wood instead of unistrut/superstrut. My build was a cross between this one [texaskayakfisherman.com] & this one [hobie.com]. There's several other good threads on hobie forums, too lazy to find them.

Also, Aliexpress has super cheap slick looking LED yellow side lights that made my trailer look way more expensive than it is. They were less than a dollar each, lol.

Etrailer.com will price match anybody including eBay and give you 10% of the difference. They are very fast for processing and shipping your order. Also, there is a Curt Hitch rebate, but today is the last day for it.

Love Harbor Freight...only problem is their ridiculously slow shipping.

Yikes!! Craiglisters have gone insane

Yes, it has! I recently starting looking for a small utility trailer to move and transport building materials. That's when I found out that HF has stopped selling trailer kits. I turned to Craigslist looking for a 4x8 (or larger) trailer, but they (even old HF ones) were selling for $350-$600. The cheapest I've seen lately for new 4x8 was $800. The crazy part was that it was nearly impossible to even get any of them because they were being bought by others so fast. I gave up for a week of chasing and then saw a new listing with no picture and an odd description for a trailer nearby and went and looked at it (another person called about it while I was there!). The trailer turned out to be a 5x10, single axle, 16" or 18" wheels (didn't measure then exactly, but definitely larger than the usual 12") with a rotten wood box and roof built on it. I ended up getting it for $150 and stripped it down to the trailer deck only in a few hours. I plan to repaint it this winter and upgrade the lighting. Not a bad deal overall, but I am glad to hear that the HF trailer kits are back!
