Don't see discounts on Weber grills very often...and this isn't even a clearance. Discount is only on the Crimson color. Price is the same, with or without the "free assembly".

Most of the negative reviews (and there aren't that many) are about shipping.

Poor reviews on heating and cooking

"It takes forever and doesn't give the nice sear my previous $400 grill did."

"To put it simply, this grill just doesn't get hot enough. "

"Even worse, the grill does not get hot enough to sear your meat. Your thermometer will register over 600 degrees, and then you put your meat on and it barely sizzles."

"The very first time I cooked my steak it took too long to cook and it got dried up because the grates were not hot enough and I never got those grill marks nor that sizzling sound."

"Grill is not hot enough. Takes 20 minutes to get to 550. Open lid to flip items, etc. and it drops precipitously and doesn't recover adequately in relevant time frame."

"Anemic heat by design"

"not sure why our new 899.00 weber gas grill is not holding heat. cant even bbq."

All the negative reviews above are contradicted by even more positive reviews. If your grill isn't getting hot enough, call Weber's great customer service for help.

Several of the negative reviews are about the grill not getting hot enough to properly sear and cook meat. That's kind of the purpose of a grill. Maybe that's why it's discounted?

EDIT: After reading some of the 5 star reviews, some people there are saying the same thing. One of the reviewers gave it a 5 star rating but said he can't get the grill above 500 degrees and another that it doesn't sear properly. Pass!

EDIT2: Reading the 2 star reviews - same complaint about it taking too long to come up to temperature and not being able to get it above 500 degrees. Very surprised since Weber normally is good quality.
Webers have a safety bypass valve. If you turn on the grill at the controls before you open the tank, it won't get very hot.

See:
https://www.weber.com/US/en/blog/burning-questions/why-wont-your-gas-grill-get-hot-its-probably-in-bypass-mode/weber-29816.html

I never dealt with the gas leak check: just turn the gas on at the tank, count to three, then start the grill.
I felt the same way before I bought my first Weber 8 years ago. The quality of the heat(even/consistency) and the longevity of grill have turned me into a huge fan. I replace the grates and flavorizer bars about 5 years in but burners and grill box are bulletproof. Just my opinion.

Interesting. I ended up ordering it but the assembly way included all the way up to "clicking" when placing the order. Ended up going back and removing assembly.

Read the reviews carefully. I was very excited about buying this to replace my old one and am passing because of the awful issues with the heating. Across every review star rating it's a similar story of very poor heating and cooking.

The notion that any Weber doesn't get hot enough is crazy. All Webers get ridiculously hot. I suspect ppl are not preheating long enough or trying to preheat with the lid open. I had my last Weber for 15 years and it was still in such great shape, the buyer of my house included it in the purchase order.

This is a great deal, especially with free delivery and assembly.

Most of them are designed for 500-550 Deg. Many factors affect temp like opening and closing frequently along with outside temps like doing it in 15F. That could easy make it variable of less than 500 deg.

The 3 burner equivalent is the same price. There is no issue with it not getting hot enough. Also, 90% of the 1 star reviews are due to the free assembly...guy not showing up on time, not cleaning up blah blah. This is a great grill.

No deal on the E310?

Don't need 4 grills, otherwise I would jump on this.
