No you cannot. In the usa, the only diesel passat wagon has a bhw 2.0t engine. The engine requires a 505.01 class oil, which this is not. It will however work on all vw diesels 2003 and older.
I've been using it for this last oil change in my Evo and so far no problems. I laughed at people saying it made their car quieter but lo and behold it made mine more quiet too, coming from M1.
Have a couple of oil test kits coming in the mail t
so curious to see how it pans out. Still have another gallon but might buy more here.

1) Rotella T6 lost it's "S" rating this year. Before 2018 it had a "S" rating. "S" means that it's suitable for use in gasoline powered cars. It no longer is considered that.
2) Even when it had it's "S" rating, Shell flat out said it was not suitable for use in cars with catalytic converters. Too much phosphorus. It'll eventually coat and degrade your cat. Depending on how old your car is factors. Newer cars have much more precise AKA delicate cats and are easier to foul up. Older cars are less of a problem in this regard. But older cars tend to burn more oil. If a car burned no oil then there wouldn't be any phosphorus from the oil to foul up the cat.
3) It's "heavy duty". People that use various grades of oil to break in their engines have said they have damaged their cams using T6 for break in versus other oils.
