This deal seems to come around every few months or so but I stumbled onto it today while getting some oil at HD. Formula Shell 5W-30 and 10W-30 both on sale at $9.88 (or $1.98/qt). One of the better cheap conventional oils you can buy per bobistheoilguy.com.

If your car has 205k miles, I wouldn't change a thing. You've got a good formula.
When I switched to synthetic at 205k, new leaks began to appear which is possible with older gaskets.

Even without the rebate it's only $22.50ish at Walmart right now and you'll get at least 2x the mileage out of it, so by the time you factor in one less filter and your time, it's still cheaper and better.

what if my 2004 camry has been on conventional for the past 205k miles? I've read that switching to synth will cause issues?

Seems to me like that was old wives tails from the early days of synthetic, but if you're happy on conventional, stick with it.

If your car has 205k miles, I wouldn't change a thing. You've got a good formula.

Wouldn't bother changing anything to be honest. Synthetic is primarily beneficial for longer oil change intervals.

I bought the cheap oil from Walmart last year "Super Tech", they ran out so they gave me Mobil 1 Synthetic for a substitute at the same price Wink

I like Shell oil, Shell also makes Rotella.
