Ehhh..........If Belichick can control Gordon and he can play up to his potential, great for the Pats. I applaud them for being able to land a potentially-great WR for free basically. However, considering Gordon's history, I don't think he'll behave for very long. He may avoid trouble for maybe a season. But, I'm sure he'll be back to his old self.

But, I think Randy Moss wasn't as bad as Josh Gordon. If you look at Moss's stats, he had A LOT of really great seasons prior to going to the Pats. He just became a nuisance when he was with the lowly Raiders. The second year with the Raiders, actually.

Gordon has had only 1 stellar year in 2013 when he had over 1600 yds receiving. Since then, he's started 11 games from 2014-2018. He was suspended for the entire year in 2015 because he couldn't stop smoking the MJ.

Seems relatively low-risk for the Patriots. It has already been a revolving door there for receivers for a while anyway so it isn't like there is any risk of Gordon upsetting any stability or ruffling feathers with existing players at the position. If he doesn't work out they can just say they gave him a chance and he dropped the ball (pun intended). If he stays off the drugs and gets his attitude in check this could end up being a brilliant move. I have my doubts about him and I wouldn't like him on a team that I am a fan of but I for the Pats the risk is far outweighed by the potential rewards.
