Does this mean that Target will inflate the selling price of the LEGO set? Cuz it has had happened whenever gift card was being offered.

Do you still get the gift card if they discount the item due to price match??

I don't see why not if the order total comes out to be at least $50 in the end. All the cashier need is for it to scan and goes through the machine.

You should also try to look for Walmart local store stocks if you are trying to pricematch. Walmart has some really steep discount for older sets, and as the result tends to be out of stock sooner, but Target might still have a few left and a nice cashier might be willing to price match. I got a Kylo Tie Fighter set for $30 that way (MRSP 79.99 and Target was selling it at 57.99) because my local Walmart actually ran out of stock but their inventory checker online still says a few was available. It's not like a super super good B&M deal like a 75 bucks Millennium Falcon, but still it made my day to get that for $30.

Hmm, are these usually for one set over 50, or a combined purchase over 50?

You can check out some of the minifigure series, like the Harry Potter ones for $3.99 each:

There's also the creativity boxes for $4.99 (come in different colors):

I'm not sure there's anything cheaper, unfortunately.
