Charmin's done a fantastic job offering a dizzying array of TP pack options, which makes quickly determining the slickness of a given deal obnoxious.
@TofuVic established a critical purchase point ($0.00253/sheet; based on Costco's sale price) which is often (always?) used as the gold standard for measuring slickness... but which is a headache to calculate over and over for umpteen different packs of TP a store might carry.
To that end, I created some charts that hopefully people can use to quickly compare a given deal to TofuVic's critical pricepoint. The charts are arranged to show the "critical" total cost of a deal by the size/type of pack, for deals requiring simultaneous purchase of 1, 2, or 3 packs.
You need 4 pieces of information to use them:
- the total number of packs you'll purchase
- the "type" of roll (aka # of sheets/roll)
- the number of rolls per pack
- an approximate mental calculation of total price (e.g. discounting for $5 gift cards at Target)
If the total price for your deal is less than the price in the matching chart/cell, then you've got a slick deal on your hands.

Hey OP I noticed in a few deal posts, as well as TofuVic's spreadsheet the Ultra Strong FM being listed as 385 sheets. Have you noticed this as well? And do you know if any of the other sizes differ from Ultra Strong to Ultra Soft?
