These are the 2.5 batteries that are included. Seems like a good deal for the price and possibly the lowest price seen on this model (MO40L2512). This is a push mower. The mower holds both batteries, but only one is used. The other port is just for storage.

I currently have this model https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1 . From what I can tell, this is an upgrade, wider deck, better motor etc.. However, everyone complains about the battery life. I can currently cut my .3 acres using one, maybe 2 of the 4.0 batteries. The reviews that complained about the batteries appeared to be using the 2.5 batteries. Does anyone who has this model care to weigh in? It seems like a great deal, and I bought it just in case it sells out, and also I have put my 19" one through the ringer. It may become by leaf mulcher Smilie

Also, and I assume the answer is yes, but do the 4.0 batteries fit in there as well? From the pictures, it appeared to, but I hope someone who owns it can weigh in! I have gone all in on the greenworks 40v line. i have 3 of the 4.0 batteries and one 2.5. I also own the smaller blower and the string trimmer. The trimmer is terrible and seems to eat the spooled line as fast as it spins. I have tried putting it in many different ways etc... but it just does not work well. The blower is good for blowing grass clippings and small enough for my older child to play with.

This is being replaced by the 48v version which is coming next spring. I scored 3 of those on a pricing error for $178 each a few weeks back. With two batteries as well. Kept that one to myself Smilie
Did you actually keep any to use? Any comments on battery life, etc..?

I opened one. I have never had a cordless mower before. The motor on the parts list states "40 volt", so I think it's the same mower with a battery that can surge to 48v. This is similiar to DeWalt's "max" tools, which are actually 18 volt but can surge to 48 v if needed. I mowed for about 10 minutes before I decided I couldn't live without a self propelled mower. Also my yard I think is too big. So I'll probably pick up an 80 volt self propelled cordless if I ever go that route. (Last summer I built a Frankenmower by taking a pro-level B&S high power motor and mounting it to a Toro Super Recycler chassis, so I have a few years before I need another mower.)

Add mower to the title, but this is a pretty solid deal.

Last time I bought one of these mowers the battery died out FAST. If you're grass is kinda high the battery will discharge twice as fast. If not then this is a solid deal considering I've been looking at one lately compared to others.

15-20 mins depending your grass is a reasonable time for these 2-2.5ah batteries. I cut St Augustine grass in Orlando during summer and only see about 15 mins max. 25-30 on the 4ah.

Does it use both batteries automatically? Or do you have to swap them out? I.e. is one slot a holder and the other slot active or are both active? Thanks!

It's just a port that holds a 2nd battery. Storage.
