*edit.. disconnected already going on 15 mins now... line of sight on a rock solid ubiquiti AP... this 5.0/2.4ghz thing sounds like a shat excuse in 2018.

I had this issue myself but I found out it's recommended for it to be on the 2.4 band and not the 5.0 band. Haven't had any issues since then.

You can tell by going into the app and looking at your timeline. Outages will show up as darker bars.
Edit: Here is an example of mine: https://i.imgur.com/oaTQaCa.png
This is on its own AP 6' away with its own SSID, forced to use 2.4GHz.
I have tried two different AP brands (Ubiquiti and Netgear) and two different Routers (Ubiquiti EdgeRouter and pfSense), nothing seems to change this random dropping.
Some days, not a single drop, other days, it is worst than this.
During an outage I poked my head outside and the light was still on, so it isn't loosing power.
Should be your WiFi signal. I have had it for some time and never an issue.

You get to know about disconnection either via app (a notification) and via email. I get both. I also used to face the frequent disconnection issue and that was due to the bandwidth it consumed while uploading videos. I had netgear n700 and video quality set on high res. I later changed to medium res and the problem was solved. I later upgraded the router to archer 1700 because of my other requirements and have never seen an issue afterwards. So the trick is to have coverage and bandwidth. Other than that its a great doorbell. The only drawback is you need subscription to watch videos or you just get motion alerts. Hope this helps.
