Email says ""Select Nest Protect Products and First Alert Photoelec Smoke Detector". So unfortunately, I think that it is only for the Nest Protect.

I got the email. It's for in store only, but I went online to look at reviews. The best said see price in cart so I added it. Price in cart was $66.64! Might be better than the coupon.

Apparently it's going to be YMMV. My store had 2 in stock. If I went over 2 it charged me full price on all of them. I checked all the other stores around me and this is the only store that was discounted. I had to do in store pick up also, but I ended up getting 2 for $128 after my military discount and taxes. Pretty slick.

If they are discounted i'd make sure to check the date they were manufactured. These only have a life of 10 years. I have seen lowes discount them when they have sat on the shelf for 2 years, thus only have 8 years of life left.

TIL. They literally stop working after 10 years. That's some shady business practice?

Nothing to do with shady business practices -- it's part of the national fire code, if I'm not mistaken. Many states, Maryland included, have outlawed the 9v battery detectors. You either have to install a hardwired detector or a 10 year lithium sealed battery.

When did this happen? I had my
House built about 4 years ago and mine are hard wired and 9v back up.

Not that long ago. Maryland changed the law in 2013, but it became mandatory on Jan 1, 2018. Now you can't buy the 9v ones in the stores.
