Purchased two of these bundles yesterday for $79 from Wal-Mart. Looks like about half of the Wal-Marts in my area are marked down to $79

That is incorrect. The Nest E does NOT have farsight, which just wakes the display to a setting of your choice (weather, color, temp setting) etc when you are nearby it.

It DOES still have motion-sensing technology to tell when you are home or not.

Plus it is moot anyways, because you can set it up on your devices and use home away assist with your phone's location to tell if you are home or not. It does a pretty good job at geofencing.

Is the E Thermostat work the upgrade over the Gen 2 Nest? It looks like the primary difference is that the E supports the remote sensor?

Thanks for the reply. So the initial tag price was different but in cashier it was $79? Did they have the 2 items packed together in 1 packaging or do you have to get them separately?
