Wal Mart has the Eco Plugs on clearance for $5 - some down to $2.50. I have this and some other Eco Plugs outlets and also some of the generic SmartLife wifi outlets. The Eco Plugs are slightly more cumbersome to hook up, bit they stay connected. Some of the generic Smart Life ones I have must be reset every few weeks. I have literally NEVER had an issue with the Eco Plugs.
More importantly, these Eco Plugs are rated at 15 Amps while most of the cheaper generic ones are only 10 Amps - a meaningful difference if you want to hook them up to a coffee pot or electric heater.

EDIT: I saw the dual version and also the outdoor model (I have three of those) from last year, but this model does not show up anywhere I have seen on SD... What ZIP code has it for $1?

When I searched that ZIP code, no stores had it in stock for $1. Many had it for $5....
The other you linked to is not in stock anywhere is is decidedly different than the ones I posted.... Those are the ones I have three of and love them. Two have been used non stop over a year on our front and rear landscape lighting without one single glitch. Eco Plugs makes some great stuff....

A few years ago I bought some, but the only way seemed to be to tie homebridge into Smartthings.
