CVS Info:

First of all, you will need a CVS ExtraCare card. This is obtained easily at any store at the register. Some will ask you to fill out the form then and there, others will just give you the card and ask you to return the form later.

Once you have the card, you can now start CVSing

The biggest thing to understand is that CVS uses a promotional program called "ExtraCare Bucks" (commonly abbreviated as ECBs.) These print out on your receipt immediately once you purchase an item offering them; almost like an instant-rebate you get at the register. You can turn around and use them anytime on almost anything in the store, except for alcohol, cigarettes, and gift cards.

Often, CVS advertises items as "Free after ECB" – For example, throughout the month of November, CVS has Crest Pro Health Whitening Toothpaste in 4.2 oz size, for free after ECB. The cost is $3.49, but you get $3.49 back instantly on your receipt. The best part is that there are often coupons available that can actually help you earn money… like for the above toothpaste, there are $1 off coupons available, meaning the item would be $2.49, but you get $3.49 in ECBs back. The limit on this toothpaste for this month is 2. So if you wanted to start off small to get into CVSing, the thing to do would be to buy one toothpaste in the first transaction (and use a coupon if you have one, so that you either pay $3.49 or $2.49 in cash), then use the $3.49 ECBs you get back from that first transaction to pay for the second tube of toothpaste, and again, receive $3.49 more in ECBs.

The trick now is to roll your ECBs so that you rarely pay more than maybe a dollar or two in tax on transactions, instead using your ECBs from previous transactions… then earning more to keep doing the same. It's a cycle (and a game/addiction to some, lol.)

I have to go to the chiropractor this morning, then go help some friends move. Normally, wouldn't mind helping 'friends'... this one girl just really gets on my nerves. She's really, really perky. And you know how most people would ask can you come help them move and say they'd really appreciate anyone who could, etc.? She just made a cute little email with pictures and assumed everyone would be coming - this couple has upset the rest of us on more than one occasion by telling us what to do. Remember the guy who instructed us all that it was his wife's birthday and we all needed to tell her happy birthday or she'd be really upset? Yep, this couple. :sigh:
I'd not do it for that reason alone. You can always use the "Can't...I'm pregnant." excuse.

fever watch: Day 6. 101.7 Stress No symptoms other than the low grade fever and a runny nose, so I don't see the point in going to the doctor. If it's still there Sunday we'll go on Monday.

I tried saying I don't know how useful I'd be, can't lift, won't use cleaning chemicals... but she has a special job for me, I get to make lunch - oh boy!

Yeah, if it were just them, I'd say no. But a whole bunch of my other friends will be there helping so that's why I'm going.

Back from moving... I ended up packing her kitchen and driving a load of stuff to the new house. Totally a pet peeve of mine - when you ask people to help you move, everything should be boxed and ready to go when they arrive! It's not their job to box everything, too.

I decided not to help clean at all because her signs annoyed me. That's right, printed out signs in every room of the new house and the old one with what needed to be cleaned in that room. Everything from mopping the kitchen floor to spraying weeds in the back yard. Can you believe the nerve? You'd think nothing this girl does would surprise me anymore, but it still does!

Oh, and they've had posession of the new house almost a month now. It's not like there wasn't time for them to go clean in advance.

ETA: Almost forgot! They were too cheap to rent a uhaul, too. They had borrowed a mutual friend's pickup and we were making trips back and forth with that and all the small stuff in all our cars.
