I've had a few of these same exact units and they all emit a nice high pitch coil whine. Depending on how sensitive you are and where this is placed, it may drive you absolutely crazy or you may not notice it at all. Good luck!
I bought one plus a $2.50 dry erase board and got free shipping. Banner on page says "free shipping for orders over $35, so since this is $34.99 you technically just need to spend $0.01 more
THANK YOU, I know exactly which noise you're talking about because it too drives me crazy. I almost bought 2 of these, so thanks for saving me from the potential headaches.

Sucks that you have to buy two in order to get free shipping. 5% off from CB site though.

Well, technically you only need to buy a $1 filler item. I got mine with rewards from buying batteries... Not too shabby.

If I get real close and pay attention I can hear something. Guess I'm insensitive.

Grabbed this, thanks for posting OP! I've been in need of a UPS during blackouts to protect my home server.

Figured I'd save someone the hassle. I'm still living with mine, but I'll replace it eventually. The unit is in a closet and I can still hear it if the room is quiet enough. Drives me nuts.

A little well placed hot glue will usually solve the problem. Likely the big inductor. I'd recommended high temp glue if the components feel fairly hot when you first open it. Doesn't take more than a small bridge to the board/solid component.

I've thought of opening it up and putting some glue on it, just haven't gotten around to it. Sad that it goes unnoticed in QC. None of my old APC units has this issue.
