Pretty much the lowest price per CCC.

It's best not to use an adapter if you can help it. Since you bought a 1/2" wrench, you should get 1/2" sockets for it.

I actually just got mine in the mail. Initial quality looks good, very shiny and very few flaws. The sockets fit tightly in the case. Walls are just the right thickness to fit most places without being weak.

I haven't used any of the sockets yet though.

All of my GearWrench stuff has been outstanding and definitely a cut above Craftsman and most of Dewalt's stuff. The only other impact sockets that I also like a lot are the Makita Gold, but this set is a much better value for this many pieces.

3/8" impact is of limited utility IMO, 1/2" is where I would think most users would require impact sockets. GW stuff is nice though usually.

I picked these up to use with my future Milwaukee 3/8" stubby. Should be plenty for my needs since I don't work on tractors and most of my wrenches are either 3/8 or 1/4. Really just depends on what tools you already have and adapters are cheap if needed.

How is this compared to the HF one ($24 after 20% coupon)?

Is it worth the double price? Also HF you can always walk in and exchange if broken (lifetime warranty).

I think the quality is much better than HF, but whether it's worth the price difference is up to you. Someone asked the same question on Amazon, and here are the replies:
Question:
Is its quality better than Harbor Freight ones?
Answer:
  • yes it.
  • By Vandy Johnson… on March 22, 2018
  • I don't know they're both made in China but it is a real good set
  • By jabroni on March 22, 2018
  • Of course!
  • By DzPhm on March 22, 2018
  • Much better quality
  • By SCUBA GLENN on March 22, 2018
  • Way better than harbor freight in my opinion. Material and craftsmanship of them feels of much higher standard. I've had these sockets for a little over a year now and I use them every day. They have met every one of my expectations and I have been unable to break any of then which is a positive! Definitely an incredible set for your money. see less

Why no 20mm socket? jumped from 19 to 21 with no 20mm.
