Project Fi - Up to $999 travel credit with purchase of a phone

Today only, purchase a new phone with Project Fi and get a gift card for Delta, Hotels.com or Southwest for the amount of the purchase (limit $999). Valid for current customers and new transfers. New customers MUST transfer in a phone number which has been in service since 8/28/2018. The phone must remain active on the service for 120 days or you will be charged the value of the gift card.
The rules do not specify it must be a mobile carrier, so I transfered in my Google Voice number.

Going to cancel that and get this, but now there is a waitlist for the phone. Mine still hasn't shipped so shouldn't be much of an issue, but still annoying.

Yeah super fast. I got it from the Google Store and it offered same day setup and delivery for my area so I went for it.
The pixel 3 is nice. I'd like to use it as my primary phone, but I don't want to incur add'l charges on Fi. I can insert my t-mobile sim and it auto switches to that network. But if I call the Fi number it just goes to voicemail.
I wonder if that means that Fi is not "active" for purposes of the travel credit, even though I would still be paying the $20/m line charge. If not, then I guess it will just need to sit in my drawer for the next 120 days...

Did the gift card anything for that matter show up on checkout? For me it showed just the phone while purchasing.
No there was no mention of the offer when I checked out from the Google Store. Don't worry. The other thread is alive again and many others have hsd the same experience as us without mention of the offer at the Google Store. Chat reps have confirmed that as long as you bought the Fi version during the promotion and complete the rest of the terms, you will be eligible for the travel promo. I hope. Lol!
