Bought this about a year ago and it has served me well but in retrospect I wish I had gone with the fuel line. The cons of this set for me are the drill isn't a hammer drill and the hacksaw is under powered to the point of almost being useless. Also, the hacksaw drains those 2 Ah batteries in like 10 minutes flat. You will be much better starting with the fuel drill+impact driver combo and then adding bare tools as needed or whenever you see a good deal.

I spent $300 across different holiday deals getting the FUEL versions of all the tools included in the ratchet kit (excl. flashlight), but with 1×4AH and 2x2AH batteries. These tools are very good, but the Fuels are amazing. They can completely replace their full-size equivalents, while these will cover 80% of scenarios for a handy homeowner. Just something to consider.
Respectfully dissagree. This is an AMAZING set geared for the handy homeowner who won't really need more than a 1.5 battery. If they put a 4.0 or larger in there, the price would jump up $25 or more.

Foe the working guys who want these, they could pick one up separately which can be had for about $50 and worth it to have 3 batteries.

I'm an HVAC Tech and have a large set of Fuel M12 and M18 with 5 or more batteries for each set. Most are large capacity.

BTW, performance of the non Fuel is very good. This stuff was the pinnacle of cordless tools 5 years ago.

These are the older brushed set but great prices. Might be worth buying also a 4 ah battery

Yea, really does seem kind of cheap to not include one 4.0 or 6.0 battery. (Or even a 2.0 small one)
Even just because the drill and driver won't stand up straight without one of those batteries.

Dang, if it included 2 2.0 batteries this would be really sweet.

I really want a deal with just the impact to come out... But it seems the newer 3/8 impact with friction ring doesn't go on sale that much. And the 1/2 is a bit overkill

You shouldn't really ever be setting your drills or impacts upright. They're likely to fall over and that ruins expensive bits. However, if it's just for storage purposes without any bits in the chuck then yeah... I get what you're saying. Kind of annoying sometimes. (I don't store my tools with the battery connected though - so, moot point)

Nice. I will add the multitool to my collection and hopefully flip the rest ... Did it last time to add the hackzall.

I have several of the M12 tools and the battery I use the most is the 4Ah battery, which came with my set. While I have two additional 1.5Ah batteries I find myself never needing them. I also have many M18 tools and find the 5Ah battery large enough for my DYI needs while still being fairly compact.
