I love the first comment dividing 50 by two for us all...
I got my $1 dot and a $24 dot on BF. I love them, if I didn't have these two already I'd go for this deal.

The $1 Dot I got was a pleasant surprise. Stream music on it while I'm in the kitchen... Not boomy but fills up the kitchen with decent audio.

Only issue I've had so far is that it doesn't seem to want to stay connected to 5Ghz band. Works fine on 2.4

How do you prevent Dot A from hearing you talk to Dot B? I have two in adjacent bedrooms and they hear each other even when talking low. Amazon talks about spacial separation or something that should prevent it, but it still happens. Changing wake word is not something I wanted to do.

Closest one usually picks up your voice. If not, another does and is fine. I've got 15 total upstairs and downstairs now. No issues at all.

You could also rename the listening word to computer or echo instead of Alexa to keep them separated.

I understand how its supposed to work but my kid speaks to his in his bedroom and the one on the other side of the wall turns on the same music or whatever. Then he has to go in to the other room to stop that one. Can't imagine mine are any different than anyone elses, we just don't want one turning on when it shouldn't. I know I can change the wake word. It is what it is, its a machine so can't expect it to be perfect.

Amazon was offering 25% off plus a $5 trade in credit on Gen1 and Gen2 echo dots. With Gen3 on sale for $30 or a 2 pack for $50, I'll gladly pay $20 for a new one with the better speaker and new look. $20 echo dots for a Christmas present is SLICK to me. woot

Can anyone help me with something. My wife has decided that she wants me to get our son the Echo dot with the little screen. I am loath to pay the extra money just so he can see the time but she wants this to be his alarm clock. (Yes I know we could get a cheap alarm clock to show the time but that is not the direction she wants to go. He can see the weather! Ughhh). Any deals on those? Any better options of Google Home Mini? Does Google Home work for Amazon music equally well?

If you go to buy an echo dot, on the right side at the top of the add to cart option - there should be a button that says Upgrade and save with Trade-In.
