While in the café today I noticed on their electronic menu that one of the slides said that you can get a free medium iced sea salt coffee when you participate in their can drive. After not finding the deal on their official site I asked to speak to the manager, who confirmed that if you bring in any nonperishable food items for donation you do get a free beverage. I ran to a Target next-door and bought a can of green beans for $.59. Sure enough I got the free beverage, regularly-priced at about $3.50. It's hard for me to know how widespread this deal is since it's not advertised online, but the fine print says valid at participating locations. So there must be more than one.
Participating Locations:
Irvine Center
Irvine Diamond Jamboree
Tustin
Fountain Valley
Garden Grove
Cerritos
Gardena
Torrance
Costa Mesa

If you visit a participating location not on this list, let me know so I can add it. You can also call ahead.
Fine print includes the following:
1) Limit one redemption per day
2) Offer valid at time of donation (no rain checks?)
3) Participation varies by location

FYI, I was at the new Irvine Center location.

i think they run a promotion on monday for their iced salt coffee, its $0.79 somewhere around that price range
Don't donate dented or expired cans. The LA regional food bank sorts them out and trashes them. Total waste considering much of it is still typically edible.

Participation varies by store. I spoke to a shift manager who confirmed all OC stores are participating. Maybe more too. I am keeping a list of stores. Let me know if you find one that's not on the list.

Just don't donate anything. These welfare people eat better than most workers.

This deal is valid once per day through 12/16. Time to hit up the Walmart for $0.30 canned corn.
I didn't know this, either, until just yesterday. And I go there a lot. They don't seem to be pushing publicity on this one.
Edit: NVM didn't see your quote lol
