How on earth is this at a thumbs-down rating when a more expensive post for the same thing (just a different color) is front page? This site confuses me so much.

Oh, forgot to add, I have this exact same Crock Pot and paid $35 for it and thought I got a steal. It works very, very well. I use it at least 3 times a week.

I have had this same model for years and it cooks really hot, regardless of the setting it's on. You can't clip the lid down while cooking, so be aware of that, as well.

I do all the time. It's vented, why not?

The instructions say not to. I did it that way a couple times and even leaving it on low the entire time, it boiled the crap out of everything I cooked, even burning it to the sides. On high, it melted a slow cooker liner. I keep it as a backup crock pot and only use it in a pinch.

Sounds like yours is defective. Mine works great. You should call up Crockpot customer service, they are very helpful.
