It's currently $15 cheaper than normal and includes an extra rack.

This is the exact same price in store; the online price is neither less or more expensive. I am stating this specifically because Costco.com often has higher prices than store prices to make up for the shipping and handling charges, and sometimes the online prices are lower due to further promotions.

is it me, or are air fryers and this christmas = instapots and last christmas?

maybe it's just me, since i bought an instapot last year and an air fryer this year. it might be funny to hear how many people are in the same boat.

not sure about the same as a convection oven comment. the fans on these things seem to circulate a lot more air and cook much quicker than my countertop convection oven and the feedback from users is almost cult like. they seem to do a better job than the ovens. i've never seen the ovens marketed the way these are. can i get the same results maybe if i spray food with oil before reheating in that too?

so i think we've figured out the market needs an air fryer that is 6 qt, digital, square, stainless, with a vented removable basket, that is tall enough to hold a whole chicken, and also has the rack and skewers, and a metal housing. did i forget anything? all are close but lack somewhere.

i like the space the square offers. four decent sized chicken breasts seem more feasible in the square as compared to the round basket imo.

like i mentioned earlier, i've thought way too much about air fryers than i'd like to admit.......the worst part is i'm still thinking....lol
i've also recently purchased several of these.

i just submitted a price match request for four orders i've recently placed.

i'm not sure if i would've noticed the difference without this post. you just save me $60 or i just got 1 for free!

p.s.
btw, i got this one instead of going with the 5.5 digital black from Best Buy for $49.99 Black Friday online deal. i like that this has a square basket compared to the round one on the black, but wished it had a removable basket the way the black one does. not sure which trade offs make which one a "better" option? i just recently ordered some avocado oil and a sprayer to use for this.

i could see this going fp. it would go even bigger if it wasn't gated by needing a membership. ty mom.

This is the 6 qt one. The 5 qt one is $54.99 instore and was $59.99 online, but it's on sale now for $44.99 online. Don't know what the instore price is currently.

the 5 qt is round and black. this one is square and stainless.

the aesthetic factor is what first hooked me. i wish it came with a removable basket the way the round ones seem to, but it does come with the rack. it's a little less tall than the 5.5 qt digital qourmia if i remember correctly.
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/gour...Id=6280303

i purchased the gourmia online for BF as well, but gave it to my mom and went looking for one for myself again. that's when i found this one.

i under appreciated the rack it came with until just seeing that the phillips one describes it as double layer using the rack. i only pictured it for a roast or the skewers that are included, but now realize how it could be used for fries and other foods to create two layers to "get your fry on"

i've obviously spent a little too much time thinking about air frying lately.

Looks like this is the GAF680, 1 piece basket with crisper and rack.
The GAF645 at bestbuy looks identical except it's a 2 piece basket w/o the crisper and rack.
The 5 qt one at Costco is also 1piece basket with crisper and rack.
Pros and cons of 1 piece vs 2 piece basket??

nice catch.

having a removable basket....

pros = dump fries out after cooking
can fill the basket independently. the basket is lighter and easier to handle in comparison to the other model that doesn't have the basket

cons= decreases cooking area slightly
a little bit more to clean in comparison to the bottom removable liner in the non-basket model. i did handwash the basket with a brush the first few times i used the 5.5 round and it was a slight pain washing and rinsing the vents. maybe i'm just lazy. i guess it's not an issue if you just throw it in the dishwasher.

i wonder if the rack would still fit in the model that has the basket? considering this thing MIGHT get used a lot, i figure it's worth getting the one that's the best option since it'll be sitting on my counter for the next few years.

btw, also worth mentioning, the price includes free s/h, which is the icing on the cake.

maybe costco's service the cherry on top.

Thanks, I ordered one on Sunday and just submitted a price match and ordered another one to try out for ourselves. This item would qualify for the lifetime return policy from Costco, correct?

This or the 5.5 quart fryer from Best Buy yesterday for $50? Anyone have any thoughts? Offhand I like that this is square and has the Costco forever warranty.
