I know I'm probably in the minority here, since everyone seems to like these... But I had some of these and returned them. The tweeters sounded very dull and muffled to me. I couldn't get them to sound good. Maybe I like really bright speakers because I went with Klipsch RP series and have enjoyed them ever since. Haven't regretted the choice at all. I would buy the Klipsch again... Never felt listening fatigue with them or thought they sounded harsh. Just my opinion on these but if you like brighter speakers I would steer clear of these. I dont know if I got bad ones or what (which would be nearly impossible since I purchased 2 sets)... But they didn't sound right at all to me. It was like a normal speaker with your hand over the tweeter. I haven't listened to every speaker that exists, but I am a musician, and speaker enthusiast my whole life, and Ive never heard speakers that sounded like that in my life.
On the reference, and RF model it was known to be bright. They fixed it with the RP (reference premium) models.

Just wanted to help future peeps since only op can update!

On a side note, just listened to these the other day and they definitely keep up with speakers that cost over $1k! Great price. Extend nice and deep too (unlike say KEF LS50s, although the KEFs have slightly better separation but also cost $800 more)

BTW, if you need a good amp to power these with, the old Bluesound Powernode 2 (highly rated) is being clearanced for $450ish online (down from $800).

These vs Kef Q150?? Ordered a pair of those at $299 yesterday. I have a Dayton 5.1 set and will likely build a higher end set starting with these, but I might not add until later in '19. Subwoofer isn't high end but does a decent job. Plan to upgrade that next but I wouldn't say I'm looking for a lot of bass from my bookshelves. It seems like speakers normally get drowned out by that, even high end speakers. I have a pair of JBL MK2 "6 as my L/R but will be replacing them with the Q150s or UB5. I was going to buy two LSIM 703s as I had a 704c delivered but I decided to send it back and look elsewhere as it sounded a little dull. I wouldn't say I like really bright speakers but I definitely like to hear a lot of detail and hate that wet blanket over the speaker sound. The 704c had a little bit of that to it. Any comments welcome. Thanks in advance.

The Unif-Fi's may not be for you. I don't find them dull at all, but they are definitely not bright speakers. Another thing to consider is they take a pretty beefy receiver to drive. The have low sensitivity and are 4 ohm, but for my ears they are the best thing I heard for the price. I tried KEF's, Polks, Klipsch, and a few other brands when I was shopping.

I just bought the Kef 150s as well. I'll keep them. Here is a Kef review that compares the Kef to the Elac.

Thanks for the comparison. I forgot they ran on 4 ohms. That was one of the factors that pushed me to the Kefs in the first place. Hard to keep them all straight after researching so many.
