I just noticed this Disney Classics Complete 55 Movie Collection dropped in price by about $50 -
Disney Classics Collection [amazon.com]
This is a UK/European Disney collection that is apparently imported to the US by Amazon.
Most of the blurays in the collection should be
region unlocked, but there are
nine blurays that are
reportedly region locked, and there are
five movies that are
on DVD and are
definitely region locked - Saludos Amigos (1942), The Three Caballeros (1944), Make Mine Music (1946), Melody Time (1948), The Black Cauldron (1985). Please see Hariseldon's post below for more information on the topic of region locking in this collection. I've also put the region locking information in the list of movies below.
Note that the shipping is listed as $3.96 on the Amazon page, but it jumps to $18.61 in your cart. I called Amazon customer service and they said the extra charge of $14.65 for shipping is an "import fee deposit" that is refunded within two months. Please see my post below for additional information on this topic.
You can also buy this same collection directly from Amazon UK for a slightly higher price -
Amazon.co.uk [amazon.co.uk]
If your state charges tax on Amazon.com purchases, it may be cheaper to go through Amazon.co.uk.
Here is a link to a sixteen thumbs up thread from two weeks ago when the price for this collection was $277 -

The OP states that the five DVDs won't work.
I'll try to do more research on this collection and let you know what I find out. In the meanwhile, proceed with caution before purchasing it. I have a region free bluray player, so for me this isn't an issue, but it could be an issue for many people here in the US.
Playback Region B/2 :This will not play on most Blu-ray players sold in North America, Central America, South America, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. Learn more about Blu-ray region specifications here
This is the areas that have blu ray players compatible with this format:
Region B/2: Europe, Greenland, French territories, Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand
Nothing like this set is coming to North America, by the way. Disney Europe handles home video differently.
These are the 9 Disney which are B locked (or B/C) and will not play on a non region free US/Canadian Players. I bolded the items which appear to be in the list
-Bolt 2D
-Dumbo
-Enchanted
-Jungle Book (1967)
-Jungle Book 2
-Meet the Robinsons
-The Nightmare Before Christmas 2D
-Pinocchio
-The Princess and the Frog
-Ratatouille 2D and *3D
-Sleeping Beauty
-Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
-Sorcerers Apprentice
-Tinker Bell
-Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure
-Up 2D
-Wall-e
-The Wild
So, overall 41 BD which are US compatible.
Yes -- these are confirmed, No Amazon doesn't know waht the region status is nor does it care,. No this isn't some special edition where they specially lock just these discs.
Yes Amazon is incorrect as usual and it doesn't matter what they list it
I found this website that provides information on region-locked blurays -
Regionfreemovies.com [regionfreemovies.com]
I've checked about ten of the movies in the collection and though I can't find information on a couple of the discs, the website has so far confirmed what Hariseldon has stated in his post above regarding which discs are region locked and which are unlocked in this collection.
At 41 region free bluray discs in this collection for $218, this works out to just $5.32 per bluray Disney movie, plus the book and case.
With regard to the five locked DVD's in the collection, you can check to see if you can find a DVD region hack for your DVD or bluray player. Just google the model number of your player with the words "region hack". Often there are simple hacks where you enter a series of buttons with the remote control and you can make the player region free for DVD's (or at least temporarily change the region setting to B/2). Please note that this typically won't work for region locked blurays. Making a bluray player region free for blurays is much more difficult and it often requires a physical alteration in the player's hardware.
If you can get your DVD or bluray player to play the locked DVD's in this collection, you will have 46 viewable Disney movies (41 on bluray and 5 on DVD), bringing the cost per movie down to $4.72.
Also, here is the information that Amazon sent me on the extra shipping charge (the import fee deposit) that appears when you go to checkout when you buy this collection on Amazon here in the US -
"Hello,
This is a confirmation email that you will be refunded $14.65 for the import fee deposit from your order Order ID: 113-0405108-697XXXXXX. Refunds typically process 2(two) months once the order shipped out.
I hope this helps!

I assume that these either don't come with digital copies, or that if they did, they wouldn't work for US redemption?
