No way Wal Mart will refund you for a single item in a bundle. Your receipt would reflect that you didn't actually pay for it, how would they even refund you?
Anyhow, I'm thinking I can just get a cheap video card now (the motherboard isn't compatible with many newer videos cards) to just get it running and wait a few months and get a new desktop, or perhaps, just get this now and use my monitor and kind of relic my desktop.
I don't game much, but I do calculations with Mathematica and sometimes Python. And, like I said, 4k video is probably the most important task for me with this computer. Also, is putting the movie files on the non-ssd going to slow everything down a lot when editing? 4k files will fill up the SSD fast especially using Resolve with all the temp files it makes.
Thanks.

Its itemized separately on my order. I was skeptical too when I heard people were able to return the goggles for a $20 credit, but this is apparently the way Walmart handles bundle sales. I'm planning on returning mine as well, unopened, unless someone on here can convince me they aren't the complete pieces of junk they appear to be.
I am currently running both 15+ (2nd 15+ unit as first had bluescreen issues) and 17+ right now to figure which I want to keep. Background on other gaming laptops I own: Asus ROG G701VI (GTX 1080 17.3" 120hz GSync IPS), 2018 Acer Predator Helios 300 (GTX 1060 15.6" 144hz IPS), Dell 7577 (GTX1060 MaxQ 15.6" 60hz IPS replaced with 120hz TN)
My impression so far is 15+ has slightly better screen that gets slightly brighter and to my eyes richer color. First 15+ unit had virtually no backlight bleed, second 15+ has some spots at bottom edge that are not noticeable during usage. The 17+ has a couple of backlight bleed spots on bottom near hinge, the right hinge area being slightly noticeable if I look for it when screen displaying black. My experience with 15.6" and 17.3" IPS laptops is that larger screens are more likely to have bleed, but it is rather like a silicon lottery or dependent on how much pressure bezel cover/hinge puts on LCD panel.
17+ fan noise quieter across all ranges and out of box is 7-11c lower cpu temperature for same work loads. Gpu temperature difference is barely noticeable...maybe 2-3 c lower on 17+ if at all. The cpu power limit on 17+ seems to be higher as hardware monitor saw it hitting max 72.4w during overnight testing while 15+ max reading was 63.14w.
There is not much weight difference subjectively for me between 15+ and 17+. The 17+ is half an inch wider and slightly lighter than 2018 Acer Predator Helios 300 (15.6") I have been carrying around for nearly 2 months. That being said anyone wanting smallest footprint would want 15+.
The 15+ chassis is slightly stiffer and metal wrist rest area should appeal to people who prefer metal but makes edges feel sharper. I actually like the soft touch material used on 17+ wrist rest better as it is more comfortable and makes edges less sharp.

I love the laptop, i was surprised to find it being mostly metal. It definitely feels like something $1200 plus, in the mid-tier range. Ordering Gundam sticker to cover the OP logo. Very happy with the laptop and would strongly recommend it.
