Walmart App In-store pickup price

I found a good deal on an item that I've wanted for a while. The Walmart app lists the item for full price. When I clicked on pickup options it showed I can have it shipped to my local store for a fraction of the price however there is no way of adding the item to my cart at the sale price. I tried adding it to the cart and selecting my local store for pick up but its showing full price.

Does anyone know how I can go about getting the sale price on this item?

I don't have much to add other than I have seen prices on Walmart.com In-store pickup (going through with desktop and browser) that differ from Walmart App in-store pickup (using mobile app).

I have a feeling this is not by accident.

You would think that would be the case but it doesn't mention in-store price only anywhere. In fact, the items not even in stock in my store. It just says order for in-store pickup for delivery by Jan 15th at the sale price. I was going to upload a screenshot but it won't let me.
