I bet this is the 2018 version, which is based on the 2018 D series (not the just announced 2019 version). No local dimming, but it does have something that the 2018 D series doesn't have, which is Dolby Vision. I bought my 2018 V505-G9 last week.

I just compared the two and can't see an difference in description. Both had 4K uhd and hdr, same resolution and size, the Wal-Mart normally sold for 428 and sams was 349 so I'd hope you'd get more for your money but without seeing them next to each other can't say for sure.

They are brand new. I just bought one at Costco, today. They are double-stacked and in-stock. Many people are returning their low-end Samsungs and exchanging for this one.

D series is listed as 60hz refresh while V series is 120hz.

I just purchased one at Costco today 1/13/19 for $289.99. Purchase at Sam's for $289.00 and get a one-year factory warranty. Purchase at Costco and Costco adds one-year = two-year factory warranty. Purchase with Costco Visa (by Citi) and Visa adds two more years = four-year warranty. Purchase a Costco extended warranty, by Square Trade, for $34.99 and get an additional 3 years for a total of SEVEN years. I confirmed all of this at Costco Membership and online. People are returning their Samsungs to exchange for this Vizio.
