This system is a beast at this price point and honestly I dont think you can build this system for less. In fact when I last part picked it out I think a similar build would run $650.
If you want a great 1080p gaming system with a SSD and a great vid card and PSU, I highly recommend this system. I have been getting 60FPS + in every game I have tossed at it.
It boots up in 2 seconds and is not bloated with a bunch of crapware.
My only complaint is it has very limited expansion capabilities. No extra drive bays or PCIe slots. it does have quite a few USB 3 slots and I have been plugging extra drives in their instead of internally so that seems to work for my needs. As a stand alone system this is really good if you dont want to mess with building your own and want a decent gaming rig without spending a lot.
it also comes with 2 free games that are due to release next month that are worth $60 each so that's cool too.

I have a very old PC with i5-3xxx series with GTX 980TI 6GB.
I don't game much, usually in 1080p. Just wondering about real world performance compare.
All in all, I probably paid about same price like 5 years ago including vid card upgrade like 3 years ago. (Box was about $300 and vid card another $280)
Tbh keep ur laptop. CPU is very decent and 960M doesn fall much behind gtx 960. Just take out your laptop battery and use it as a desktop. I have Y700 with same specs and 4k screen. Works as a perfect desktop

Oh ok thanks. Yea that's the Y700 I have too.
They come with Raise the Game AMD Game Bundle. It includes 2 games.
I am using these for my office that requires some GPU load. 4core/8threads + RX580 with 1TB + 128GB for quick boot is exactly what I needed. Thanks

The CPU has more cores on your laptop, but it's also a desktop cpu, so you shouldn't notice much difference.
Graphics card is better on the deal, but it should be noted that this desktop does not support dvi. It has hdmi (and I can't remember, but I would think display port)
