    Looking for advice...if someone is already heavily invested in the amazon world, is the tv by toshiba with the fire tv built in as good as this one? Also is this like a once in a lifetime price or will it come around again in a couple of months lol

    it has been a real issue for me in some situations yes. my kids love to turn all the lights on in the room while they play in some corner while i can barley see the screen! or when the sun is angled in such a way that its coming in towards the viewing area (light blinds)... etc.

    Looks like there is some technical glitch in google express. I just refreshed the product page and it allowed me to checkout and I placed the order (with $20 off). Then after I placed my order once again it showed "Sold out" and now after few mins I refreshed the page and it shows available. Try your luck it may go through.

    Got the 50" version of this Sharp TV a year back on a Black Friday deal. No complaints aside from Roku starting to feel a little laggy. The display itself is great for the price range and the audio ain't bad at all. The contrast ratio isn't good enough for true HDR but you expect that for non-OLED.

    I was watching my TCL 43S405 last night (it's essentially the same as the 43S403 on sale at Costco right now), TV, network news, timeshifting using the Roku functionality and 16GB flash drive in the USB port. I had the TV brightness set at Darker. I cycled through the 4-5 higher brightness settings and settled on Darker... just fine. It's bright enough for me. I have a mind to get another TCL 43" 4K at Costco for my home theater, to sit beneath my projector screen. I think this Sharp has the same Roku functionality (the remotes are identical except the Sharp has one additional button with a crescent moon on it, sleep I guess). But I figure the TCL is apt to be better screen than the Sharp, likely to last longer. Don't know if that's right. Doesn't TCL make their own screens?

    QUESTION: Costco extends the 1 year TCL warranty to 2 years. Yes, I'll be buying with my Citi Costco card. How is it that I would get 4 years warranty? TIA for info.

    Sure, why not? However, you might want some firepower in your display adapter. I'm running an EVGA 1050 3GB card, which will give me 4K streaming with Netflix. A weaker card wouldn't. Not that I'm looking to stream 4K via Netflix in the near future, but if I decide to, I can.

    You want enough oomph out of your rig to give you 60hz. Set that in display properties.

    I bought the Toshiba because of the Firetv, I'm already in with Amazon everything. The toshiba is rated a notch higher and they appear to be basically the same other then roku vs firetv. Thats my 2 cents.
